Professor John Kotter (Harvard Business School), a dominant figure in the world of leadership and managing change, has recently uncovered interesting research about organisations in the midst of large-scale change. Whilst many believe change happens by making people think differently, Kotter says the key lies more in making them feel differently:

"The heart of change is in our emotions. The flow of see-feel-change is more powerful than analysis-think-change. If we are to help the person through change then we need to communicate and connect with them. To do this we need to see how they see the world and what meaning they attribute to things".
