*** We are currently developing new website for The Coaching for Great Work programme (and other programnmes from The Acumen Company). Please contact us for more details on this programme or to arrange a meeting to discuss your coaching skills development needs. ***

Last year we were proud be invited to partner with Canadian-based company Box of Crayons to offer the fantastic and innovative Coaching for Great Work training programme, created by their founder Michael Bungay Stanier (whose highly acclaimed book we recommend below).

Having worked with numerous coaching programmes before, we were immediately taken by the fresh and engaging style of the programme, its ability to transfer into the workplace easily, and the continual, fantastic client testimonials such as:

'The most frequent feedback I heard after the workshop was 'the best workshop I have ever participated in.'' (HR Director, GlaxoSmithKline)

'This course is at the cutting edge of coaching methodology. Michael has simplified the complex aspects of coaching to provide tools that managers can use to stimulate development instantaneously.' (Head of Training, Nestle)

Although coaching is now embraced by organisations, executives and managers around the world, many continue to question what difference it actually makes to their effectiveness and impact. This is partly because as organisations try to introduce coaching as a way of working internally - and move beyond reliance on external executive coaches - they run into a number of challenges. Just some of these include:
- Traditional coach training doesn't seem to 'stick' back in the day-to-day reality of work.
- Coaching becomes an end in itself - and loses its connection to strategic objectives.
- Executives, managers and leaders, even with the best of intentions, don't have time: they're too busy.

The Coaching for Great Work training program addresses these challenges directly, exploring:
- Why Great Work matters - for you, your team and your organization
- How to make coaching not just important - but urgent too
- How to find time to coach - and how to coach in 10 minutes or less
- The three key 'coaching moments', and what to do when you spot them

Many studies show that one reason why coaching training rarely sticks is the lack of post-program support. As well as a highly interactive and memorable workshop, The Coaching for Great Work training programme includes teleconferences, e-courses, videos and follow-up modules to help ensure the learning is embedded.

The programme is not just applicable to managers. We recently published an article exploring how this coaching approach can help with client engagement - see our resources section.
